Visitors also enjoy eating out the town's many tavernas and trying local delicacies like "contosouvli" (grilled meat), fine wine, and the unique cheeses produced here - "formaela" and "opsomotyri" .

A very special event in the spring is the huge celebration in honor of St. George, Arahova's patron saint. It starts on the eve of April 22nd and lasts for three days. The entertainment includes a race for old men dressed up in local costume followed by music, dancing and feasting on roast lamb.
